GE Healthcare has unveiled three additions to its Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound lineup: Vivid Explorer, Advanced, and Focus.

The Vivid family now houses four cardiovascular ultrasound systems built on a common technology base. Each system was designed for disparate needs in cardiovascular care.

Vivid Explorer is intended for high-volume echo labs and routine interventional procedures. It touts advanced 4D, multi-plane, and 2D imaging across transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE). The ultrasound also boasts AI and automation capabilities to support advanced cardiac workflows.

Vivid Advanced is meant for busy mid-sized hospitals and cardiology practices requiring comprehensive cardiac imaging. This includes 2D TTE, multi-plane TEE and 2D ICE, together with vascular, abdominal, and soft-tissue imaging.

Vivid Focus combines cSound imaging technology with a new 4Sc-RS probe and AI-enabled workflow tools, while also supporting vascular, abdominal, and soft-tissue exams.

All three Vivid systems use cSound imaging architecture to support contrast, resolution, and tissue visualization, along with AI-enabled and automated tools that were engineered to streamline echocardiography workflows. Other features include AI Auto Measure 2D, Easy AutoEF, Easy AFI LV, and AI Cardiac Auto Doppler to simplify measurements and reduce manual steps.

The latest EchoPAC Software Only v211 adds the new capabilities available across the systems. The platform supports on-site and remote review, analysis, quantification, and reporting with consistent tools and workflows.

“The imaging needs of an echo lab, a cardiology practice, and an interventional environment are not the same, and we’ve spent a lot of time with care teams in each of those settings to understand where technology can make the greatest difference,” said Jyoti Gera, CEO, CardioVascular and Interventional Solutions, Advanced Imaging Solutions, GE HealthCare. “Developing Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus on the same foundation as Vivid Pioneer allows us to meet these unique needs while creating a more connected family of systems that deliver Vivid performance and the Vivid experience.”

Vivid Explorer, Advanced, Focus, and EchoPAC Software Only v211 are CE-marked and pending FDA 510(k) clearance; the products aren’t yet available for sale in the U.S.
